Wondering where to begin…?
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. We have an idea that we’d like to be ‘somewhere else’ or ‘happier’ somehow, but we often don’t know where to start! To help you find some clarity, please see below a few tools to help you explore and sense-check your current life situation, including the health of your relationships, career and your overall wellbeing.
Life Situation
Our ‘Wheel of Life’ helps you to identify how satisfied you currently are with your life as a whole. It includes various aspects of a person’s life situation including relationships, career, finance and recreation. Have a look and see how balanced your wheel is and whether there may be opportunities for development and growth…
2. Job Satisfaction
As we spend so much of our lives ‘at work’, job satisfaction is a very important thing to get right. There are a number of things that can influence how satisfied with our with our work life, including the company culture, income, opportunities for progression etc., and taking an inventory of these can help us identify what is going well and where there might be room for improvement.
3. Relationships
The relationships we have in our lives can play a significant role in our overall wellbeing. Sometimes we find we ‘fall into’ certain relationships, and it is only when we take a step back that we realise there may be aspects that are not working so well or opportunities for improvement. The relationships wheel can help you take stock of any current meaningful relationships and see if there may be areas of development.
4. Self-Care
So many of us do not prioritise our own self-care, focusing on the needs of those around us, or of work requirements, over the expense of our health and wellbeing. The wheel of self-care can help you explore how you are currently making time for yourself, and consider if there are areas in your life where you could be giving your own needs more focus and attention.
5. Values
When we know our values, we are much more likely to attract experiences that align with who we are. This wheel helps you identify what values are most important to you, and also if there are any values you do not feel as connected to, and whether there may be opportunity for growth here.
6. Character Traits
We all have different traits that make up our personality, and this can vary from person to person (as well as over time). Have a look at the wheel of character traits and see what resonates most with you here.
7. Wheel of Strengths
When we understand our individual strengths, we are much better able to leverage them to make a meaningful difference. The wheel of strengths can help you identify where your natural talents lie, as well as any potential areas for development.
What Next?
Now you hopefully have a better idea of your strengths, values, unique character traits and the health of various aspects in your life, it’s time to leverage your potential to be the best you can possibly be. If you have a lower score on the ‘careers’ part in your wheel of life, is it time to consider looking for a different line of work, based on the values and strengths you have identified? If there are areas of improvement in ‘relationships’, are there ways you can see how your values and character traits might be causing any conflict with another person’s here? How was your self care wheel? Has it sparked any thoughts on what you may be able to do to nurture and attend to your own needs? What actions might you be able to take today to move forwards here?
At The Creative Mind, we have a number of offerings that may be able to help you with the next steps. Our guided meditations can help you relax and unwind, as well as developing mindfulness and resilience, a vital part of self-care. Sylvain’s book ‘Success Revisited’ can help you redefine ‘success’ for yourself, moving away from how it has been seen in a more traditional sense, and seeing how possible it is for you to be successful, and manifest what you need from a career or other aspects in your life, through living in the present moment. Sylvain and Clare both offer 1:1 coaching, which can help you identify areas for development in your life on an individual level, and please look out for group workshops or open meetings for opportunities to connect with us too.
